Dream it.

Client brief: One of the core systems was running out of support. The vendor tasked with the challenge had failed to deliver any value. Moreover, competition for capital within the bank meant the team would need to optimise to survive by creating a parallel sister system, which would add operational complexity.

Solution: Designed and led the implementation of a new operating model, based on the scalable agile framework - SAFe, combined with DevOps best practice. Trained leaders, led the incremental planning, agile forecasting and reviews.

Result: Winner of the 2019 ‘IDC Fintech Rankings: Real Results awards’ for an innovative approach that resulted in "faster release times, IT cost reduction and the ability for the bank to offer a simpler way for clients to access trade finance”.

Build it.

Client brief: The technology teams were facing huge regulatory and competitive demand, and struggling to deliver value. The leadership team identified significant frictions between departments which was affecting morale across the teams.

Solution: We designed a DevOps survey and transformation roadmap, and started training the team leaders. Worked directly with the COO to identify how to fund and track the value created by moving from projects to products.

Result: Several ‘lighthouse’ product teams were empowered as catalysts for change. The leadership team restructured critical elements of their operations to reduce frictions as a result of unclear dependency relationships. The team was subsequently recognised in the 2018 Global Finance Magazine Awards: “Best Investment Bank for new Financial Technology in Middle East”.

Client brief: The CTO needed to optimise their Operations, Finance, Compliance & Risk Technology division. The division was operating a blend of modern digital services with legacy platforms.

Solution: We surveyed the technology and systems to understand the existing platform, designed a service level model that could be rolled out across legacy systems while keeping critical expertise in-house, and ran a business case for possible off-shoring some service levels.

Result: The operating model design and business case enabled the client to achieve a multi-million return on investment.
